June 1, 2023: Pillar to Posts

 

The corner post for the front balcony.

To install the pillars for the rear deck, first bolts are screwed into the concrete footings.

Next a wooden collar is nailed around the steel.

A special tool uses a .22 caliber cartridge to fire the connector into the steel.

The pillar is lifted into place.

Ready to tighten.

The completed pillar is squared off with temporary supports.
