It smells like snow is coming. Good time to work inside. Joel working on the heating manifold. Nelson is staining the beams in the Great Room. Outside, the standing seam steel roof over the Grand Deck is done.
The inside work is moving forward on several fronts. Joel is finalizing the manifold piping for the heating system. Chris has all the low-power wiring coming to one central location in a lower level closet. And upstairs the painters are finalizing their work. The sprayer is fed from a reservoir of paint cans and an automatic pump.
After the holiday, the temperature has plunged. It's really winter. But the stonemasons keep chipping away. The front entry is mostly completed. Up on the roof, Luis and Jaime move ahead with the standing seam steel roof. An almost geometric design. Once a new piece is installed, Jaime uses the power tool to crimp the seam closed.
Not much snow the day before opening, but the sun is out. Up above the Grand Deck, Luis and Jaime begin installation of the standing seam metal roof. Before connecting the metal pieces, Jaime caulks the seam. Being up on the roof gives the opportunity for a closer look on the chimney cap. Down below, the stonemasons keep working behind their shroud. And inside, Nelson sands the glu-lam beams.
The stonemasons have erected a plastic barrier to keep the weather out and the heat in. A look under the hood reveals their stonework coming around to the front door.
